These pendants are hand blown and sculpted borosilicate glass with colored glass and clear glass. The metallic colors are made using sterling silver and 24k gold in a process called fuming.This specific technique is based on the implosion marble whereby a bubble is blown on the end of a tube and then the outer hemisphere of the bubble is covered in a pattern. The bubble is then heated in the flame and allowed to collapse into itself or "implode". The remainder of the unused tube is burned off and then the pattern is usually backed with another color. This style is my favorite as it allows the greatest potential for experimentation and variations in the patterns.
